In the BioPharma industry, the Long Range Growth Plan (LRGP) serves as a pivotal document that describes the extent of an organization’s sales growth aspirations. This growth comes from two unique segments of the portfolio – the base business of commercially marketed products and the pipeline of projects in R&D. Not surprisingly, the former segment is impacted by commercial uncertainty while the latter segment is affected by both technical risk and commercial uncertainty. Once sales growth gaps are identified, a necessary pre-requisite to narrowing or closing such gaps is to determine the extent to which organic and external supplementation is necessary. This webinar shows how using @RISK can help determine the likelihood of meeting annual sales targets for both segments of a portfolio. It highlights @RISK features such as the use of Bernoulli and PERT distributions to account for technical risk and commercial uncertainty and graphical overlays for direct comparison of portfolio scenario analysis. It also demonstrates that relying on the aggregate, deterministic, risk-adjusted sales value of a portfolio can be misleading when compared to annual targets.
